Super Falcons star named player of the month in Saudi Arabia

Super Falcons of Nigeria star Ashleigh Plumptre is back on the trends on social media

The 25-year-old Plumptre is making waves based on her exploits with Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.

Plumptre has been in fine form in Saudi Arabia and recently scored three goals for Al-Ittihad Ladies.

She however was not called up for the Super Falcons’ matchup with the Senior Women National Team of Ethiopia last month in a Paris 2024 Women Olympic Football Tournament qualification.

Plumptre earlier this off-season signed for Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad Ladies after her departure from Leicester City.

The defender played at the England U23 level but has since become a member of the Super Falcons and featured as they lost on penalties in the last 16 of the Women’s World Cup this summer.

In an advanced position, Plumptre would wreak havoc for Al-Ittihad as they dismantled Eastern Flames 3-0 in a Saudi Arabian Women’s League opener played on Saturday, October 14, 2023.

One of her strikes has now picked up the Goal of the Month in the Women’s League in Saudi Arabia.

On her Instagram stories, Plumptre was out as some of her teammates celebrated her birthday.

Plumptre will return to action with Al-Ittihad against Al-Hilal on Friday, November 17, 2023.
