Former speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Right Hon. Ghali Umar Na’abba, has commended President Ahmed Bola Tunubu for his plans to distribute palliatives to Nigerians with the aim of reducing the hardship caused by the removal of fuel subsidy.
Naabba who is the grand patron of the Coalition of Arewa youth and Elders Group, applauded the effort of President Tinubu to distribute N8,000 to over 12 million poor people across the country.
This was contained in a statement jointly signed by Naabba and the convener, Musa Mujahid Zaitawa.
The statement said there is need for President Tinubu to ensure transparency and accountability in the distribution of the palliatives, so it could reach the masses at the grassroots.
“We are advising President Tinubu to distribute the palliatives according to the population, so that the highly populated region would get the large percentage,” the statement reads.
