The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state on Special Duties, Yusuf Dingyadi has called on leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to stop peddling “lies and propaganda” to cut cheap political gains.
Yusuf, who decried boasts by the opposition APC in Sokoto state that the Sokoto State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal will overturn Governor Tambuwal’s victory in the 2019 gubernatorial election, said the people of Sokoto state have decided to vote the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its governorship candidate in the 2019 election despite the earlier suspension by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), urging the APC to start preparing for 2023 instead of fanning ember of disunity among the people of the state especially through social media.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday in Kaduna, the SSA said the state government wouldl soon begin to take some of the rumour peddlers to court unless they desist, noting that Sokoto as a peaceful state would not allow propagandists toil with its peaceful coexistence established over the years because some people thought they could hide under federal might to misrepresent the electorate.
‘’I want to use this medium to call on the leadership of the APC in Sokoto state to stop unleashing terror, to stop peddling lies and propaganda. They know they failed. Those people in Abuja also knew that those they sent have failed. Why can’t they stop all these lies and start preparing for 2023?
“They should desist from sending their foot soldiers to be writing nonsense on social media. That is bad because they are downgrading people of Sokoto state. We are peace loving people and nobody can take that away from us. They cannot come and be creating confusion, creating lies in order to achieve their selfish aim to justify their promise to their Abuja masters.
“They want Mr President and their party leaders to know that they are working to justify the money they may have collected. But people of Sokoto have decided to vote PDP and its governorship candidate in this year’s election.
“Governor Tambuwal has been able to tolerate their bashing and insults, that has encourage them to go for the high level of propaganda and mischief against his personality and his office as the governor. They are boasting that what they lost at the election will be redeemed at election petition tribunal because of their connection in Abuja at the expense of the electorate in the state.
“Such childish idea and lies are nothing but the creation of discarded politicians who have become merchant of lies and deceit in Sokoto state. We are ready for anybody that want to create a problem in our dear state. They have already filed a case in tribunal, so, they should wait and allow the tribunal decide their case and stop preempting the tribunal.”
