SOKAPU elects new youth leaders 

 

 Mr Maikano Mendous has emerged as the new leader of the youth wing of the Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU).

He emerged winner after scoring 203 votes to beat his closest challenger, Mr Solomon Simon who scored 47 votes cast.

The elections saw 345 delegates from across the country cast their ballot for different offices.

The election was conducted by the electoral committee led by Mr Victor Duniya who declared the winner.

Duniya described the electoral process as satisfactory and commended the delegates for their orderly conduct.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after his inauguration along with other elected executives, Mendous thanked the people for electing him and promised to justify the confidence reposed in him.

He pledged to galvanise the youth of Southern Kaduna towards ensuring that the zone is placed on the path of peace and prosperity.

“I want to assure you that I will work with all youth to make sure Southern Kaduna is on the path of peace, unity and progress,” he stated.
