Senator Katung announces training for constituents

The Senator representing Kaduna South senatorial district, Sunday Marshall Katung, has secured training slots at the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) for the youth and women from his senatorial district.

The training which is an initiative of the federal government under the National Economic Recovery and Growth Programme, is expected to train  participants for two months on various skills ranging from poultry to electrical installations, tiling, and welding, among others.

Speaking during a visit to the participants at the ITF office in Kaduna, the Senior Legislative Aide to the Senator, Chief Iliya Wilson Yangye, who delivered the Senator’s message of encouragement to the participants and also a donation of N100,000 each, to cater for their transportation and other needs for the programme, added that the ITF would provide start-up for each successful trainee.

The trainees, in turn, thanked the Senator for the training opportunity as well as the financial support to see them through the programme.

They also assured never to disappoint the senator by giving their best, promising to be very good ambassadors of the zone.

The senator had sometime last year organised a similar programme for rural farmers wherein over 250 constituents were trained and empowered with both implements as well as cash donations.
