SCI trains 350 Jigawa community health groups in two years 

A non-governmental organisation, Save the Children International (SCI) has brought to an end its two years programme which gave birth  to so many pilot projects executed in various communities in Kiyawa local government area of Jigawa state.

During the review meeting organised by Save the Children International and held  Thursday at Manpower Development Institute (MDI),  Dutse, it was resolved that the communities in Kiyawa LGA would henceforth be taking the responsibility of running the programme.

To ensure the programme continues, members of the communities in Kiyawa LGA selected the district head of Kiyawa, Alhaji Adamu Aliyu, to lead the programme and continue from where the NGO stops.

The selection of the district head was announced by the chairman of Kiyawa local government area, Alhaji Nasiru Muhammad, while appreciating the NGO.

The council chairman said there is need for the programme carried out by the INSPIRING project of Save Children International to be sustained across the communities of Kiyawa and beyond.

He added that the choice of Alhaji Kiyawa to lead the crusade in the LGA was done unanimously by the entire members of the communities that benefited from the gesture.

Also speaking, the project manager of Save Children International in Jigawa state, Alhaji Abdullahi Magama, stated that structures developed by SCI were handed over to Kiyawa PHC manager, for continuation from where the project stops.
