Samuel Bill International Academy (SABIA) located on Plot 46, Dan Suleiman Street, Utako, has marked its 9th edition of Graduation and Prize Giving ceremony with a call on the out-going pupils to consider hard work as the stepping stone to the challenges ahead.
In his welcome speech at the ceremony, the school director, Elder Pius Tom Iniekpo, thanked to God for the successful completion of the 2015/2016 academic session, noting that as part of their achievements, the school was fully accredited by the Department of Quality Assurance (DQA) of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).
“This means that in a year’s interval the junior secondary school (JSS) will come on board and all the teachers on their pay roll are qualified and competent with their degrees and NCE, respectively,” he said.
He assured those at the occasion that the pupils were doing greatly academically with the out-going pupils in primary six passing all their final exams.
“We pray and strongly believe all of them will be successful in their endeavors and wish them success as they move on to complete their basic education program.
“We encourage them to be worthy ambassadors of Samuel Bill in learning and character wherever they find themselves.”
On his take concerning the missionary schools, the director rightly pointed out that the missionary schools remained a breeding ground for the future leaders, adding that, the public schools are doing well but when it comes to issues of morality, it should be given to the former.
Iniekpo also backed the scrapping of the post-UTME, noting that it had caused delays in the admission process and that “it is not the best method testing one’s upstairs.”
Also speaking, the school board chairman, Elder J. U. Idachaba, stressed that the school “finds itself among the best in FCT” and that their celebration on that day was a reflection of excitement.
Also speaking, the PTA chairman, Dr. Emmanuel Nwokorie, urged parents and teachers to put more efforts in training the children “so that they can become responsible adults in future, given that the society is now morally decadent bedeviled with all sorts of evil.”
