NSE: Investors wealth increases by N90bn

Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE),  yesterday sustained upward trend, growing by N90 billion. Market Capitalisation of listed equities increased by 0.93 per cent to N9.687 trillion from N9.597 trillion recorded in the preceding year. Also the NSE All Share Index rose by 260.60 basis points to 28205.62 points from 27945.02 recorded the previous day.

Investors for the day traded 488.899 million shares worth N4.827 billion in 4713 deals against 286.716 shares valued at N2.340 billion in 4316 deals. An analysis of the investment indicated that  Dangote Cement recorded the highest volume of shares, exchanging N5.06 kobo to close at N180.06 kobo, MRS followed with a gain of N3.26 kobo to close at N35.19 kobo, Okomu Oil appreciated by N3.22 kobo to close at N34.73 kobo, Unilever Nigeria Plc gained N1.65 kobo to close at N34.65 kobo and Cap Plc increased by N1.50 kobo to close at N37.50 kobo. On the other hand Nigerian Breweries topped losers chart, dropping by N6.54 kobo to close at N140.00, Lafarge Wapco trailed with a loss of N1.00 to close at N58.00, 7UP Bottling Nigeria Plc fell by N1.00 to close at N133.00, Guinness Nigeria Plc dropped by N0.90 kobo to close at N94.00 and Forte Oil shed N0.41 kobo to close at N175.50 kobo
Further analysis showed that United Bank for Africa recorded the highest volume of activities, trading 127.325 million shares worth N584.834 million, Access Bank Plc traded 111.842 million shares valued at N626.547 million, FBNHoldings exchanged 62.873 million shares cost N223.215 million Guaranty Trust Bank sold 42.430 million shares valued at N992.641 million and Sterling Bank traded 19.507 million shares worth N24.380 million.
