Retired permanent secretaries set to organise colloquium on public service 

The Council of Retired Federal Permanent Secretaries (CORFEPS) would on Tuesday organise a colloquium on the way forward for the country’s public service.

Addressing journalists in Abuja, national publicity secretary of CORFEPS, Dr Goke Adegoroye, said the theme of the colloquium is “Reflections on Nigeria’s Public Service: Way Forward for Good Governance.”

He said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is billed to serve as the special guest of honour at the event.

“The morning session will be chaired by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and former Minister of Finance His Majesty Samuel Oluyemi Falae, CFR, the Olu of Ilu-Abo and Baba Oba of Akure Kingdom, while the afternoon session will be chaired by H.E. Babagana Kingibe, GCON, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and former Minister of Foreign Affairs,” he said.

He said the lead speakers at the event include a retired permanent secretary in the Presidency, Dr Bukar Usman; retired permanent secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Dr Timiebi Koripamo Agary; and the Editor-In-Chief of The Guardian newspaper, Mr Martins Oloja.

According to him, three retired permanent secretaries – Ambassador Godknows B. Igali, Ammuna Lawan Ali and Dr Goke Adegoroye – would serve as discussants.

on Tuesday l March 5, 2024,” he said.

He said CORFEPS would also hold its annual general meeting on Wednesday March 7, 2024 at the Atiku Hall of the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

He said there would be investiture of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the grand patron of CORFEPS on Thursday, March 8, 2024.
