The newly appointed Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), for Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, SP Ayuba Tunni Umma, has assumed duty; even as she has solicited the support and cooperation of residents of Lagos and Ogun states for the effective discharge of discharge her duties.
The new spokesperson, a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology from Usman Danfodiyo University Sokoto.
She was enlisted in the Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in 2010 and has since attended several professional courses, including public relations-related courses, within Nigeria and abroad.
A press statement by her predecessor, SP Hauwa Idris -Adamu, the deployment of new spokesperson by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, was to strengthen community engagement, synergy, interagency/organisational collaboration and communication within Zone 2 Command, comprising Lagos and Ogun states.
She has served in various capacities including at the Force CID Annex, Kaduna, Special Fraud Unit (SFU); Milverton Ikoyi, Lagos; as well as Staff Officer Senior (SOS), Jigawa State Command; Unit Commander, Special Protection Unit (SPU), Base 2 Lagos; Staff Officer, Force Public Relations Department, and Deputy Head of the Public Complaint Bureau (PCB), Force Headquarters Abuja; prior to her redeployment.
SP Ayuba has travelled widely in the course of her duty and attended several courses such as Criminal Justice Executive Course KAIPTC, Police Middle Management Course KAIPTC, Human Right Base and Gender Sensitive Policing, Awareness on SEA and Gender Mainstreaming MLAILPKC.
Others include: Expert Trainer for Basic Police Training, FBI Interview and Interrogation Train the Trainer Course, FBI Evidence Response Course, Strategic Communication Master Class, Leadership and Management of Police Accountability Training, Advance Detective Course and Operational Leadership and Command Course.
