Alex Iwobi was “visibly very upset” after a fan threw back his jersey as angry Everton fans booed the team following a 3-0 loss to Bournemouth in the English Premier League.
It was the second defeat by Everton at the hands of the same team who sent them packing from the League Cup in midweek.
Everton are now just a point above the relegation zone.
The fans are unhappy with both the players and manager Frank Lampard, who barely kept the team in the Premier League last season.
The travelling fans rained abuses on the team when they approached them at the end of the defeat at Bournemouth.
Iwobi has flourished under Lampard playing in central midfield, but team results have been far from encouraging.
