Police nab corporal for rape in Kano

The Police in Kano State have arrested a serving policeman, Sani Salisu, a corporal, for allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl.
Kano state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Magaji Majiya, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), made known the arrest in a press statement made available to journalists, weekend, in Kano.
He stated that: “The command wishes to inform the public that, in its effort to flush out the bad eggs from the Nigeria Police Force, it has arrested a serving member of the Force, Corporal Sani Salisu, for luring and taking advantage of a seven-year-old girl.”
According to him, the Policeman who faces prison terms if found guilty, reported defile the minor inside a kiosk located at Mangoron Mahauta Brigade quarters, Kano.
The spokesperson further disclosed  that the state’s Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr Ibrahim Idris, has directed that the case be transferred immediately to State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.
He said that the public would be informed of further development on the case, just as he urged members of the public to remain calm and report any suspicious person or activity to the appropriate authority for prompt action.
