Pictures: Sanwo-Olu flags off Lagos Blue rail operations

Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has flagged off the commercial operations of Blue Line Rail from Marina to Mile 2.

Former president Muhammadu Buhari had commissioned the rail in January 2023.

While flagging the project off, Sanwo-Olu became the first passenger at the Marina station.

Other top state officials joined the governor on Monday to test-run the commercial operations. The Blue Line Rail will move from Marina to Mile 2.

According to the Managing Director, of Lagos State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, Mrs Abimbola Akinajo she said, “September 5, partial passenger operations will start from 6:30 am to 10 am, for morning peak; and for afternoon peak, from 4 pm to 9:30 pm”.

These operations, according to Akinajo, will start with 12 trips for two weeks, which will later be increased to 76 trips per day.
