Omisore’s defection won’t affect PDP – Ex-Speaker

A former Speaker of the Osun House of Assembly, Mr Adejare Bello, has dismissed the likely backlash on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following the defection of Sen. Iyiola Omisore.
The Senator defected to Social Democratic Party and it has been claimed that the defection will have adverse effect on the party’s fortunes in the Sept. 22 governorship election in the state.
Bello, who is one of the PDP governorship aspirants, said yesterday in Osogbo noting that Omisore’s defection had longed been expected and certainly does not amounted to anything.
“Omisore left the PDP following his failure to take over the party structure in the state. The PDP would win the election without Omisore’s inputs.”
The Speaker scored the state governor, Rauf Aregbesola, low stating that though the governor meant well for the state but does not understand the terrain.
Bello, who also said Aregbesola’s successor would be confronted with a huge debt, asserted that he has the experience needed to govern the state.
