NPFL: Lobi Stars dedicate victory to victims of Oturkpo bank robbery



The management of Lobi stars FC of Makurdi said it has dedicated its  victory over Abia Warriors FC in the NPFL match day 4 to victims of the recent bank robbery attack at Oturkpo town in Benue state which claimed many lives.

The encounter which was earlier scheduled for Saturday, was postponed to Sunday as a result of the mourning mood in the state.

The match saw the Makurdi-based side defeating Abia Warriors by 2-0.

Chief Executive Officer of Lobi stars Dominic Iorfa said the victory would act as a relief for the entire people of Benue state who were thrown into mourning by the dastardly act of the armed robbers.

He specifically stated that the victory is dedicated to the memories of the deceased and the families of those who were affected by the sad incident.

He prayed God to grant the souls of all the departed eternal rest and for the quick recovery to the injured.

Some of the key spectators that witnessed the Match Day four encounter were Deputy Governor of Benue state Barr. Dr. Sam Ode, Speaker of the Benue state House of Assembly Rt Hon. Hyacinth Aondona, commissioner of Youths, Sports and creativity  Benue state Hon. Terkimbi Ikyange, Nasarawa  state Commissioner for Youth and Sports Hon. Jafaru Ango,  Permanent Secretary of the Nasarawa state Ministry of Youth and Sports Chief. Barr. Isaac Danladi,  Media Kola Daniel, Former Executive Secretary of the Club Owners Association of Nigeria and Director of Football ABS FC Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, Chairman of Abia Warriors FC Chief John Obuh  and host of other sports personalities.
