Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes suffer blow

Liverpool drew 2-2 with West Ham United at the London Stadium to leave their title hopes in tatters.

Jurgen Klopp’s side needed a win to keep up pace with title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City but faltered once again after the 2-0 defeat against Everton in midweek.

Winger Jarrod Bowen gave West Ham the lead before the break.

Liverpool fought back after the break with Andy Robertson netting the equaliser.

Alponse Areola’s unfortunate own goal handed the Reds the lead for the first time in the game.

West Ham however earned a share of the spoils after Michall Antonio nodded home in the 71st minute.

The result leave the Reds two points behind Arsenal and one behind Manchester City, with the two still to play this weekend.

The Hammers move a point behind seventh-placed Newcastle, with the Magpies having played two games more.
