Following the directive issued by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) directing all affiliated unions to mobilise and participates in the NLC solidarity protest in support of Academics staff Union of University (ASUU), the Nigerian union of journalist (NUJ) yobe state council and other unions joined the NLC/ASUU protest.
The solidarity protest began at exactly 10:45am from phase one secretariat to main round- about and ended in front of Government House Damaturu, the state capital.
The solidarity protest led by yobe state NLC chairman comrade Muktari Tarbutu had ASUU members from various university in state present.
