The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has charged network operators on the need to increase the country’s telecommunications services.
Spokesman of the Commission, Reuben Muoka, who spoke in Abuja, observed that operators can improve their technologies by partnering with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), which had a lot to offer.
Muoka said that, by exploring the opportunities the ITU offered, the Nigerian telecom industry would be maximising the benefits of the 2013 ITU meeting held in Bangkok.
The meeting sought ways to promote technology, especially in the telecommunication industry, and it was good for Nigerians to tap the opportunities, he said.
“The access to opportunities related to information and communication technology is of great importance in a global context. It fosters growth and expansion of employment opportunities in the industry,” he said.
