Sokoto:  NDLEA takes campaign against abuse to BUA cement

The Commandant, National Drugs  Law Enforcement Agency  NDLEA,  Malam Ibrahim Iro, has advised BUA cement company’s truck drivers against drug abuse and reckless driving

The commandant who led the NDLEA’s team to the company’s premises to launch sensitization campaign against illicit drugs, said the campaign was aimed at ensuring drug free staff

“This training is part of the BUA desire to ensure their drivers are dugs free ,knowing fully well that a driver who is drug user is dangers to himself and as well as the general public”,

“We have been partnering with the BUA  Sokoto State and their bringing their drivers for free drugs test and it was in the light of the fact that they discovered that their drivers were into drugs they decided to organises this training,” he said.

The training was part of the company’s effort to ensure that their drivers were drug free.

The NDLEA on its part ensured that it is capable and committed to ensure that the command convey all the messages to the drivers to be aware that taking drugs doest not pay .

He noted that any driver with the habit of taking drugs is at risk of causing accident especially  when he is driving and described such person as somebody that is not in his right sense can easily cause accident .

Besides that the NDLEA has a working a working synergy  with Nigerian Roads Safety Corps and reports making  available to the agency reveals that most of the causes of roads  accident in Nigeria today is due to the dangerous drugs intakes .

While expressed optimistics that the agency will partners with the BUA to revise the situations knowing fully that reducing incidences of drugs abuse among drivers then indirectly you are reducing incidences in Nigerian roads .

In their separate remarks , the BUA Head of Human Resources ,Suleiman Musa and Training Manager Transport Officer ,Hajiya Ramatu Sani charged the drivers to avoid taking and associating  themselves with dangerous drugs as such has a nagetive  conseconcess on their health and such act is serious offences .

 Sani also said  the war against drugs abuse concern everybody as the menace should be tackle with seriousness to the rid the  society from its alments .

The manager further said  Sokoto BUA will continue to work tireless  toward wagging war on drug abuse as in the practices of its chairman who recently donated 25 Hilux to the NDLEA as parts of contribution toward curtail the menace of drug abuse  across the country .
