Officials of Royal Moroccan Football Federation ( FRMF – Federation Royale Marocaine de Football) have turned their attention to France legend Laurent Blanc for the vacant managerial position following their failure to lure Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, to take up the post.

The post became vacant after Herve Renard resigned his appointment with FRMF following the Atlas Lions’ shocking ousting by the Squirrels of Benin in the second round of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

They reportedly turned to Rohr who guided Nigeria to a third place finish at the AFCON 2019 finals, but the German declined the offer and choose to fulfil his contractual obligations with the Nigeria Football Federation.

Blanc, a member of France World Cup winning squad on home soil in 1998, according to reports, is now highly favoured to take up the post.

The 53-year-old has been without a job since leaving Ligue 1 outfit, Paris Saint Germain in 2016.

He previously managed Girondis Bordeaux and the French national team.
