WAFU B tourney: Golden Eaglets set to jet off to Burkina-Faso 

WAFU B U-17 defending champions, the Golden Eaglets will depart Abuja for Burkina-Faso on Saturday.

The Golden Eaglets will face host nation in their opening fixture at the University Stadium on Thursday, May 16 at the WAFU B U-17 Championship.

The Manu Garba led side will take on Togo in their second match at the same venue on Sunday May 19th.

The team which has been hampered by the failure of many key players in scaling the MRI hurdle had continue to post impressive results in their series of friendlies matches losing only once to Morac Academy from Delta State.

The academy fired two goals in the second half to record a 2-0 victory over what apparently was a weakened side caused the MRI disqualification.

Blueprint Sport can report that ahead of the final submission of the squad list to the players who made the final squad list for the U17 AFCON qualifiers will know their fate by Wednesday morning.

“The players will know who has made the squad,” a team official disclosed.

The WAFU B U17 AFCON will kick off on May 15.

Defending champions Nigeria are in Group B along with Burkina Faso, Togo and Niger Republic.
