May Day: Work with passion, VC urges YOSU staff

As workers all over the world mark International Day for Workers, the vice chancellor of Yobe State University, Damaturu, Prof. Mala Mohammed Daura, has admonished the staff of the university to always work with passion in order to ensure quality service delivery and promote the image of the university.

International Workers’ Day, also known as Labour Day, is a celebration of labourers and the working classes that is promoted by the International Labour Movement and it occurs every year on 1st May.

Prof. Daura said, “Passion for work is an essential component to be happy and productive at work and any passionate team strives for greater goals, establishes a better life and it will be an asset to the university.”

A statement issued and signed by Abdulmumin Kolo Gulani, office of the vice chancellor, Yobe State University, Damaturu, and made available to newsmen Monday in Maiduguri said he stated that Yobe state government has been supporting the university staff, disclosing that the government is always taking care of workers’ welfare as well as other fringe benefits.

The vice chancellor further said, that, “there is strong need for the staff to work with passion so as to promote the university’s good reputation.”

While wishing the staff a successful celebration, he called on the good people of the state to continue to pray for Hon. Mai Mala Buni for a hitch free tenure ahead.
