Samuel Chukwueze caused a penalty for Villarreal to draw level at Real Sociedad before the visitors went on to win 2-1 in La Liga Sunday.
The road win moved Villarreal to ninth on the table with 28 points from 19 matches.
Goal-bound Chukwueze was brought down inside the box for the resulting penalty to be put away for Villarreal to restore parity in the 58th minute.
Villarreal will then snatch a late winner to bag the maximum points.
‘Samu’ was later substituted in the 82nd minute for his team to defend their lead.
The Super Eagles star, 20, has thus far scored three goals in 18 appearances in the Spanish top flight this season.
