‘Kwara PDP not aware of Saraki’s return plan’

Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in kwara State, Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo, has debunked insinuations that the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, is returning to the PDP.
Oyedepo, who stated this in his office in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, noted that as the state party chairman he’s not aware of the plan of Dr Saraki to return to the party yet.
The chairman explained that, “it is not possible for someone who wants to join a party to join from the roof, if he intends joining the party he should start from his ward in kwara and hold meetings with the appropriate organs of the state.
Further, he said any individual that wants to return or join the party should go the ward is where you are registered and get your membership card, adding that the ward is where you can pay your dues to qualify as authentic member of the party.
Oyedepo therefore cautioned that since “the Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki contested for senate seat under the platform of APC in 2015, so he must follow due process in returning to the PDP if he really wants to join the party as the party constitution does not give you automatic recognition.
Also, he explained that even former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, followed due process by going through his ward before coming back into the PDP, despite being a former number two man in the country which was higher than the senate president.
Kwara state PDP chairman advised the Senate President to go to his Ajikobi ward in Ilorin west of kwara state to get registered.
Akogun Oyedepo warned against party leaders misleading the general public with the recent visist to the state: “even the national chairman of the party, Uche Secondus, told his that their purpose of coming to kwara was to attend the eight day prayer of the deceased and not party affairs.

Mass defection of APC federal lawmakers looms, says Nyako
Senator Abdulaziz Nyako has revealed a possible mass defection of federal lawmakers from Adamawa State from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to other political parties in few days.
The Senator representing Adamawa Central at the National Assembly said the defection would largely be to protest against the imposition of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the national chairman of the party.
The senator, who slammed the May national convention that produced Oshiomhole and 17 other executives members of the National Working Committee (NWC), said by making him the APC national chairman, those that imposed him have destroyed the essence of the party.
He said most members are angry not just because Oshiomhole was imposed on them with impunity but because the national leadership of the party failed to right the wrongs done to so many of them at the state congresses.
“Yes, many of us, there are many senators and many members of the House of Representatives, a few governors in the same position. All of them have grudges against the APC, and you will see defection in a matter of weeks.”
Already, it was reported that the Senator has dumped the ruling party for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), several others are said to be on their way to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Adamawa.
