A car assembly plant is to commence operation in Oke-Ero local government council area of Kwara state by July, this year, the chairperson of the council, Hajia Aminat Yussuf, has said.
Speaking with journalists recently in llorin during an interview, the council boss said the plant would be located in Ekan town.
Yusuf said the project would be a private partnership initiative between the council and one of the indigenes of the local government.
She said the Council had allocated land for the purpose and released all necessary documents for the take-off of the plant in July, adding that it would give the needed support for the success of the plant.
