Fire destroys property worth millions of naira in Shekarau’s house

Property worth millions of naira were destroyed as fire gutted the Mundubawa Kano residence of former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau.

Spokesman of Kano Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, who confirmed the inferno, stated that the unfortunate incident occurred Sunday evening.

Although the spokesman said men of the service were able to put off the fire, the cause of the incident was still sketchy.

Also confirming the fire incident to journalists, media adviser to the former Governor Shekarau , Dr. Sule Ya’u Sule said the fire started from the inner kitchen of the house, which was at the ground floor of the multi-million naira mansion.

He said, “We thank God the fire only affected one of Mallam Shekarau’s living rooms and already, men of the State Fire Service have successfully put off the fire.”

The mansion built by Kano state government in 2011 as part of statutory benefits of the former governor, was first gutted by fire in 2018.
