Kure laid to rest amid tears in Minna

The remains of former Governor of Niger state, Engineer Abdulkadir Kure, was yesterday laid to rest in his Minna home amid tears and wailing from admirers and associates.
The body was first taken to the Minna Eid-prayer ground where it was received by a mammoth crowd for the Janaiza prayers led by renowned Islamic scholar, Sheik Ahmed Lemu.

Earlier, a league of Imams led by the Chief Imam of Minna, Sheikh Ibrahim Abu Fari conducted a special prayer session on the remains of the former governor and for his family at his GRA residence.
The cleric prayer session was a follow up to series of prayers conducted by the Etsu Lapai, Alh. Umar Bago Tafida, Estu Agaie, Alh. Yusuf Nuhu and Emir of Minna, Alh. Farouq Bahago after his body arrived Minna on Tuesday night.
Many other dignitaries also took turn to offer prayers on the remains of the former governor before it was driven to the Eid-praying ground for the Janizar prayers.
Our correspondent observed that associates were shedding tears while women cried uncontrollably when the corps was brought out of the house for its final prayers.

The burial prayer was attended by both Muslims and Christians including former Senate President, David Mark, former Minister of Information, Professor Jerry Gana, Minister of state Solid Minerals, Abubakar Bawa Bwari, former governor of Cross River state, Liyol Imoke abd Boni Haruna also a former governor.
Others included former governors Sule Lamido,  Attahiru Bafarawa, Ahmed Shekarau, Kwakanso while the traditional rulers were led by the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar.
The Chief mourner and Governor of Niger state, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello led the state executive council to the prayer ground and back to the deceased residence where it was laid to rest.
