Keshi should distance himself from NFF’s politics – Eche

Super Eagles’ gaffer, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, has been advised to distance himself from all problems that may come out of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), especially financial issues, as he prepares the national team for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup Finals in Brazil.
This piece of advice came from the sports-loving Imo state accountant general, Mr. George Eche, while fielding questions from the Blueprint Sport in Owerri.

He made it clear that keeping himself away from the Glass House crises would enable him concentrate very well and bring out the best from the players who would in turn get to a respectable position in the Mundial. But his advice did not mean that the helmsmen in the football ruling body should go home and sleep. He has also urged them to do everything to assist the coach to achieve his desired objectives.

On the selection of players for the fiesta, Eche advised the Big Boss to ensure that the best legs were picked without paying much attention to their disciplinary records as according to him, “most football stars are not disciplined. So, he should not look at that, but look at their productivity and creativity.”

The Imo AG who had earlier congratulated Stephen Keshi and the home-based Super Eagles for winning bronze medal in their first CHAN attempt in South Africa, said some countries with better organized leagues did not even get to the stage the Eagles got to. Therefore, they deserved praises for coming back with a prize.
