Katsina: Community leaders seek justice over murder of Safana LG vice chair

Community leaders in Zakka village of Safana local government area of Katsina state have expressed their readiness to seek for justice over alleged killing of the vice chairman of the area, Hamza Abdullahi Zakka by Katsina Community Watch Corps.

The leaders described the late former vice chairman as innocent as he has no record of crime activities.

Executive Secretary of Zakka Community Development Association (ZACODA), Alhaji Musa Usman, stated this while briefing newsmen, Sunday in Katsina.

Usman said nobody in the entire Zakka town could openly state that the slain politician and royal family member had committed a particular crime.

He further said that the deceased was killed ata time the community needed him most. 

“We have been experiencing rampant killings and kidnapping of our people by some disgruntled elements suspected to be bandits.

“The deceased is a good man that has no past record of mischief or any negative blames” he said.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased politician had raised an alarm blaming the newly established community watch corps by Gov. Radda as the brain behind the killing of their Bread winner.

In a petition forwarded to security agencies and copied the press in Katsina, the family demanded for thorough investigation of the killing of their bread winner.

The petition was signed by Jamila Hamza, one of the wives of the deceased and Ahmed Barau, one of his brothers, called on the security agencies to unravel the killers of their husband and brother.

“As loyal citizens, we are demanding for justice to prevail over the unfortunate killing of an innocent man.”
