Rep Chigeru Amadi lauds Tinubu on programmes, achievements 

 

A member representing Port Harcourt federal constituency II at the House of Representatives, Hon. Barr Blessing Chigeru Amadi has lauded the vision, programmes and achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu since assuming office on May 29, 2023.

The vocal lawmaker, who is the Deputy Chairman House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, while speaking with Blueprint over the weekend, hailed President Tinubu on the successful conduct of the 63rd Independence Day celebration.

She also commended the president for appointing Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), in acknowledgement of his antecedents as a performing former governor of Rivers state.

In her words: “This is a demonstration President Tinubu’s leadership charisma. His Renewed Hope Agenda is actually visible everywhere. Nigerians will gradually reap from his vision and mission, particularly the fuel subsidy removal, his foreign investment drives among others.”

The lawmaker, however, appealed to the head of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) to review the employment policies and ensure equitable distribution of jobs among the 36 states of the country, saying: “This will encourage peaceful co-existence among the multi-ethnic, multi-religious and multi-cultural peoples of Nigeria.”

The accomplished lawyer, technocrat and motivational speaker who holds an LL.M, B.L, LL.B, and qualifications in Business Administration and Marketing began her career journey with the NYSC programme at the University of Jos Teaching Hospital and later joined the University of Science and Technology in 1984 as a purchasing officer. Later she served as a Senior Assistant Registrar, SAVC, law teacher, deputy registrar, and director, legal services of the university before retiring.

She was the Rivers state Treasurer of the Peoples Democratic Party before emerging member of the House of Representatives representing Port Harcourt II.
