Chairman, Jigawa state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Ado Sani Kiri, has refuted the claim that one person was shot dead at one of the party’s meetings in Miga local government area of the state.
He said he was only aware of the leadership tussle amongst party stalwarts from Miga area that insisted on their candidates for the forthcoming local government chairmanship election scheduled to hold on a yet-to-be announced date.

“I am just learning from people that one person was shot dead in the area; I have neither seen nor heard about the incident. That is normal, in every political contest of this nature there must be rumours.
“That is the beauty of democracy; you cannot stop people from venting their anger or views on such issues; but we would resolve it, by God’s grace, before the coming election.”
Blueprint, however, gathered that trouble started when people of the area kicked against the zoning of the chairmanship seat to Miga town, insisting that the two representatives come from the same area.
When contacted, the state police spokesperson, SP Abdul Jinjiri, confirmed the incident, but said nobody was shot.
