AUN to graduate first set of engineering students, 9 PhDs

The American University of Nigeria (AUN) is set to hold a historic convocation ceremony with a renowned legal luminary, Mike Ozekhome, as the convocation speaker.

The institution will graduate nine PhD holders and its first set of engineering students since its establishment in 1999.

The institution’s president, Dr. Dewayne Frazier, disclosed this in an interactive session with journalists in Yola Friday.

He described the ceremony as “a significant event in the history of the university which marks a culmination of years of hard work for students as they receive their well-earned degrees to step into a new phase of their lives filled with hopes and anticipation.”

“The commencement day is not just a milestone in one’s education journey, but it is also a celebration of perseverance, dedication and hard work. I look forward to the commencement event most of my career as it serves as a symbol of the transformation that has occurred in our graduates .our students are among the best anywhere in the world and now they will take their place alongside alums of the university making the world a better place day by day,” he said.

He said out of the nine PhD holders that would graduate, “eight are from school of information technology and computing (SITC) with seven specialising in information systems, while one in computer and one in school of business and entrepreneurship (SBE).”
