The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is to construct a new office complex and a mega computer based test centre in Jigawa state.
State coordinator of JAMB in Jigawa, Malam Bello Aminu, stated this when he visited the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Fanini, in his office Tuesday.
He said when the mega computer based test centre is constructed; it will cater for the needs of the state and its neighbours.
The coordinator stated that the Registrar/Chief Executive of JAMB had requested the state government to allocate a plot of land to the board for the immediate commencement of the project.
This was contained in a press release signed by Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse, copy which was made available to Blueprint.
Malam Aminu solicited the support of the Jigawa state government to assist the board in enlightening the general public, most especially in the rural areas on the recent development which makes it compulsory for every candidate wishing to sit for the Unified Tertiary Examinations (UTME) from year 2020 to have a National Identity Number (NIN).
He said the new development will curb all registration infractions and unethical behaviour.
Responding, Alhaji Fanini thanked the coordinator for the visit and gave assurance of support and cooperation to achieve the desired objective.
