IWD: Organisation gives women food, clothes in Shere community

 

As part of the continuation of the 2024 International Women’s Day (IWA), an organisation, African Centre for Human Advancement, Social and Community Development (ACHASCOD) weekend  donated food items and cloths to vulnerable women in Sere community in Bwari area council, Abuja.

The women were also sensitised on how to take good care of their health. While the elderly was sensitised on how to manage menopause, the younger women were thought on proper menstrual hygiene management while  children also got snacks and drinks.

Addressing the women on the theme of this year, the “Inspire Inclusion In Women’s Health,” the executive director, Ambassador Opeyemi Aderinto, said investing in women’s health transcends mere altruism.

“It is an investment in the collective well-being and prosperity of society at large.

“By prioritising annual checkups, acknowledging the significance of mental health, healthy breakfast routine, taking time for rest and relaxation and providing support in daily chores, we pave the way for a healthier, more equitable future.

“Empowering women to prioritise their health fosters resilience, strengthens families, and drives sustainable a. As we navigate the complexities of the modern world, let us recognise the imperative of investing in women’s health as a cornerstone of a brighter tomorrow,” she said.

She stated further that the gesture was designed to put smiles on the faces of the needy, even as she speaks on the need for support and empowerment of women.
