The Commissioner of Police, Anambra state Command, Mr. John Abang, has solicited for support of the state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) for enhanced Security of life and property.
Abang, who visited the council secretariat at Ezeemo International Press Centre in Awka, assured that the police under his watch would continuously provide conducive environment for the populace including the journalists.
According to him, the Police Command would work within the ambits of the law, while upholding the fundamental human rights of Nigerians as enshrined in the constitution.
In his response, the state Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Emma Ifesinachi, while commending the state government and the commissioner of police on the fight against crimes, assured that the journalists would always discharge their responsibilities objectively
