Immorality:  Kano Hisbah commander Daurawa resigns after Gov Yusuf’s comment

The Commander General of Kano state Hisbah, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, has resigned.

Daurawa announced this on his Instagram page on Friday, stating that he had tried his best to uphold the morality of TikTokers but to no avail.

He apologised to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf over the issue and comments made by the governor regarding his job as Hisbah commander.

Recall that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had faulted the new method of operations being deployed by Hisbah against acts of immorality in the state.

The governor had spoken on Thursday while addressing the Ulama at the Government House, especially against the mode of invading public places in the name of arresting prostitutes, an act he considered uncivilised.

He also frowned at Hisbah’s ‘harassment’ of social media influencers, insisting the board must review its present operations to correct the wrong in the society.
