A man, who purportedly married over 85 wives, Alhaji Bello Abubakar Masaba, has dismissed rumours of his death in the social media describing it as the work of enemies.
Masaba stated this yesterday in telephone discussions with journalists in Minna, adding that “I am not dead, as you can see, I am talking to you live”.
The media had at the weekend rumoured that Masaba the Bida based Islamic preacher and scholar, died after a brief sickness in Bida at the age of 84.
He said: “My dear, I am very much alive, hale and hearty. This rumour is baseless, it is the work of my detractors because they are envious of what God is using me to do in the lives of people. I am seated outside and I am talking with you live and direct from my house in Bida.
“What I am doing is divine. It is an assignment and I will keep doing it till the end of time. I just want to advice those fighting against me to stop because such people are waging war against God, their creator.”
Masaba is famous for having married 107 women with 97 still with him after divorcing 10. He has 185 children, with 133 surviving.
