I won’t quit politics – Jibrin vows

Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon.Abdulmumin Jibrin, has disclosed that despite his losing in the rerun election of his constituency, he would not be quitting politics.

The former lawmaker was representing the Kiru/Bebeji federal constituency of Kano State until his election was voided by the Court of Appeal which ordered a rerun.
Jibrin who was at the National Assembly on Thursday to formally handover his erstwhile office and other belongings to the management, said while fielding questions from newsmen that his next move was in the hands of God.

“I’m an advocate of everybody being involved in politics. So politics does not necessarily mean you own an office. You can be a journalist supporting democracy. You can be someone who takes his vote very seriously and exercise it. You can be an advocate.
“The future looks very bright. And one has had a very interesting career in the House in the last 10 years. In these years, I’ve been a lawmaker holding two very sensitive positions in the House; chairing the Finance and Appropriations committees simultaneously, spending 10 years without being accused of stealing money that belongs to the national assembly without being associated to corruption and without being accused of being incompetent or lacking capacity then I think I have to thank God Almighty,” he said.
