How accident claimed lives of 3 traditional ruler same day in Nigeria – Report

Three traditional rulers from Orire Local Government Area (LGA) of Oyo state, Southwest Nigeria lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident.

The monarchs were going to the funeral party of the mother of a brother to a traditional ruler, Oloolo of Oolo, Oba Oyebunmi Ajayi, when the accident occured in Arinkinkin area of Ogbomoso.

It was gathered that the deceased Obas are Olodogbo of Odogbo, Onibowula of Bowula, and Alayetoro of Ayetoro, all in Orire LGA.

According to reports, their vehicle rammed into an oncoming truck.

The Olodogbo of Odogbo was confirmed to have died on the spot but it was unclear at what point the other two monarchs passed away.

A source at the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, who confirmed the incident to newsmen added that their bodies have been deposited at the hospital’s morgue.

The fourth victim, who sustained injuries, is being treated at the hospital “but he doesn’t look like an Oba,” the source said.

Speaking with Blueprint on Saturday, Oyo state FRSC Sector Commander, Mr Joshua Adekanye, confirmed the accident.

The Sector Commander said, “We carried out operation to rescue them but we don’t know who they are, it was later we were hearing they are traditional rulers.”

He said four persons were in the vehicle but three of them died.
