Hajj: Plateau registers 803, vaccinates 700 against COVID-19

About 700 intending Muslim pligrims have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Plateau state, the executive secretary of the state pilgrims board, Auwal Abdullahi, has said.

He stated that all staff of the board were also vaccinated in compliance with the COVID-19 protocol and preparation towards this year’s pilgrimage.

Plateau state has an initial allocation of 1,111 intending pilgrims.

Barr. Abduallhi, in an exclusive interview, Monday said the board have registered 803, self sponsored intending pilgrims.

“About 700 out of the 803 have been called to get their vaccine, and they have been vaccinated.

“Only those whose phone numbers could not be reached, possibly because of the remoteness of their terrain, or cannot access them, are not yet vaccinated,” he said.
