Nigeria is lucky to have a man currently holding the scepter of leadership for the people of Zamfara state, North-west Nigeria, Governor Dauda Lawal.
Dauda was not crowned the governor because of his strength or wisdom, he was because God formed and predestined him to be and God saw what no man, not even the prophets of the land were able to see in him. In the building up to the 2023 general elections Dauda became a man after the hearts of the good people of Zamfara, a God’s choice who had the heart and nature of a great leader.
He risked his life through a journey of wilderness experience as an educated individual, a technocrat and a highly skilled and trained leader having gone to leadership schools both at home and abroad in preparation for the call of leadership on him by the people of Zamfara. This is a mark true leadership bestowed on him by nature and destiny.
Holding the scepter, a staff in his hand a leading signifies knowledge, wisdom, passion, focus, innovation, precision and an enigma of sovereign authority. These virtues of his on assumption of office, the young visionary governor hit the ground running. He assured the people of Zamfara state that he would nip in the bud the activities of armed bandits causing mayhem in the state.
He pledged to sustain the war against bandits who have commercialised and legalised kidnapping and illegal mining in the state. Dauda came on board with a scepter of true leadership to turn around the state to an enviable height of development and peace. No wonder, his few months in office has since given a sigh of relief to the people of Zamfara state with regards to the evil acts of bandits. Kingpin like Dog Gide and his sponsors and cohorts have taken to their heels, and in hiding because Dauda has unleashed the terror of true leadership on anyone who has refused to be law-abiding.
Zamfara is an agrarian state with vast virgin land, thus the hard working governor has started exploring the agricultural potential as a catalyst for the development of the state’s economy. Some of his policy statements are geared towards reviving the agriculture sector to enable it to export agricultural produce.
Given that Dauda is committed to take Zamfara to the next level, everything seems to seek his attention; news of his dreams for the state, gossips of his new approach to governance and of course the support of stakeholders, people in the rural communities supporting his revving policies.
A leader’s ability to lead excellently depends on his perception and ability to recognise God’s handiwork in every atom. This is another area that Governor Dauda believes that the government of Zamfara, with him on the driver’s seat, steering its affairs to a haven of development, is an act of God Almighty. He has not failed in the area of prayers for God to make him another Moses or David of our time.
One of the many tests a great leader undergoes is the test of insight. God will test your ability to accurately discern before He commits the destinies of people into your hands. For me, Dauda is an endorsement of God for the people of Zamfara. He is working and putting every single part of the system in place.
The ability in him is so glaring that even the opposition with their machinations at the lower courts are falling flat because no one can contest the will of God. Governor Dauda Lawal is God’s ordained, designed, prepared and packaged for the people of Zamfara.
He is with the scepter, standing as an emblem and symbol of the good leadership prepared by God to lead. It’s good to say that God uses men from time immemorial to meet the needs of men. Dauda is another man I can say God has sent for not only Zamfara state, but also Nigeria as a nation.
I call on all Zamfara sons and daughter to give him the maximum support.
