Gombe APC unveils lineup for April LG election

The Gombe state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a list of its candidates for the upcoming local government council elections scheduled for April 2024.

Those picked include former House of Representatives member, Binta Bello, and several other hopefuls.

Former Deputy Minority Whip in the Federal House of Representatives, Binta Bello, represented Kaltungo/Shongom Federal Constituency.

Recall that in October 2023, Bello resigned her membership in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after an unsuccessful attempt to represent Gombe South in the Senate in 2019 and a failure to clinch the ticket for the 2023 elections.

This was contained in a press statement issued by the chapter Wednesday and was obtained by our correspondent. The party said it drew the list after consensus with aspirants.

The statement by the party reads: “As Gombe state gears up for the upcoming 2024 Local Government Councils Election to shape the future of governance at the grassroots level, the APC has unveiled its candidates for chairmanship and deputy chairmanship positions.

“The list, which emanated following a consensus process, was submitted to the Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC) and duly signed by the APC chairman, Nitte Amangal, and secretary, Abubakar Umar S. Goro.”
