Former youth leader to Tinubu: Sack representative of Rivers on NDDC board

The immediate past president of Obolo Youth Coalition (O.Y.C), Ijonama Mkpon Amon, has called on President Bola Tinubu to terminate the appointment of Chief Tony Okocha on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

He said the representative constantly disrespects the office of the governor of Rivers state.

Mkpon, in a chat in Port Harcourt said the incessant use of unprintable language and insults from Chief Okocha on the office of the governor is unacceptable and if not well handled, it is capable of  making other ethnic groups in the state to turn against one another.

He added that the action of some individuals raining abuses and using unprintable names against the governor is provocative.

He said: “My attention was drawn to Chief Tony Okocha comments on the office of the governor. More so, a certain local government chairman in the state also did the same. As an Ijaw man, insult on the office of the governor is unacceptable to us.”

Comrade Ijonama who is the Chief of Staff to the national president of Ijaw Youth Council also stated that in as much as he would not dwell much on the political system in the state, he would rather urge Chief Okocha and others to show respect for the office of the governor, adding that Governor Siminialayi Fubara is God’s representative in the state.

“I will call on Chief Okocha to respect the office of the governor, because in the physical world, Governor Fubara is the God of Rivers state,” he said.
