Fire razes house of NAN correspondent in Zaria

Fire has razed the house of Zaria News Agency of Nigeria journalist, Muhammad Lawal in the early hour of Wednesday.

Blueprint gathered that the fire destroyed a multi-million naira residence of the journalist.

Our correspondent reports that the incidence started at about 2.pm and lasted for about an hour.

He observed that the fire destroyed all property in the compound which is located at Unguwar Rimi formerly known as Buzai behind Kofar Gayan Low-cost housing estate Zaria city, .
Speaking with our correspondent, “I was about to take birth after coming from Mosque when we discovered traces of smoke in one of the rooms in the three bedroom bungalow.

“We made efforts to quench the fire but our efforts were not successful. We resorted to call the Fire Service at Kofar Doka in Zaria.

“The fire service officer in charge said they had no fuel to respond to our calls,” he said.

He added that as you can see,we didn’t remove anything from the house, everything was gone except the clothes we are wearing.

On the cause of the fire outbreak, he said “we are suspecting electric power fluctuations to be the cause”.
