The general assembly of Environmental Rights Action/Friends of the Earth (ERA/FoEN) Wednesday passed a vote of confidence on its Executive Director, Dr. Uyi Ojo .
This was just as the Assembly also ‘removed’ Mr. Nnimmo Bassey as Trustee and Chairman of Board for allegedly undermining the interest of ERA/FoEN.
Members reached the resolutions during a General Assembly meeting held in Benin City, the Edo state capital.
The Assembly accordingly approved the nomination and appointment of some Trustees which included Chief Saint Emma, Mr. Uyi Ojo, chairman and secretary amongst others.
According to the Assembly, “the nomination is in pursuant to section 834(1) of the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020.
However, Mr. Nnimmo Bassey said he remain the chairman of Board, adding that Mr. Uyi Ojo appointment as ED had been terminated by the Board on October 3rd, 2020 after an evaluation report of the organization indicted him.
