Foundation honours 48 integrity champions

The Lux Terra Leadership foundation, in partnership with the MacArthur Foundation, has honoured 48 individuals from across Nigeria with the Nigeria Models of Integrity Award.

The awardees, who are Muslims and Christians from various fields and disciplines, were recognized for their commitment to integrity and high moral standards.

The Executive Director of Lux Terra Foundation,Fr. George Ehusani, lauded the awardees for their dedication to integrity, saying, “It is gratifying to know that there are men and women out there who remain committed to the life of integrity, struggling daily to live out their lives with the highest personal and social morality.

The Deputy Executive Director, MacArthur Foundation, Haj. Amina Salihu, emphasised the importance of accountability and probity, saying, “We need to accept the fact that the lonelier the road, the better the road, as those who struggle daily to live the lives of integrity are often alone.

Also, Director of Public Affairs, Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC),Osita Nwajah commended the awardees, stating that being recognized for good virtues, which are very scarce in our society today, is a no mean feat.

He said that the awardees’ stories would inspire a new generation of Nigerians to embrace integrity.

The immediate past Nigerian Ambassador to Russia, Prof. Abdullahi Shehu, emphasized the importance of good parentage, upbringing, and willpower in cultivating good moral character.

He encouraged the awardees to continue being shining examples of integrity in their respective fields.

The awardees, ranging in age from 30s to 80s, have witnessed social decadence in Nigeria’s social morality and have made significant contributions to their respective fields.

One of the awardees,Mr. Aliyu Ahmed expressed gratitude for the recognition and encouraged young people to understand that integrity pays and will be celebrated.
