Cyriel Dessers is now a major doubt for the Super Eagles in this month’s friendly against Portugal after he was again missing for US Cremonese in the Serie A with a thigh injury.
Cremonese recorded an encouraging goalless draw with champions AC Milan in the striker’s absence Tuesday night.
Dessers also missed the weekend’s 2-2 draw with Salernitana.
Dessers was called up by coach Jose Peseiro for the friendlies in Algeria in September.
He scored his first goal for Nigeria against the Algerian CHAN team.
Super Eagles tackle World Cup-bound Portugal on November 17 in Lisbon.
Promoted Cremonese have now climbed to 18th on the table with seven points from 14 matches, two points from safety.
