Conference equips young Africans with skills, knowledge in cultural understanding – Participants

The Best Diplomat Conference recently brought together leaders and professionals to equip young Africans with the skills and knowledge to navigate diplomacy and foster cross-cultural understanding.

The conference which was culminated in the creation of “Africa Young Diplomats and Changemakers” is to also discuss pressing global issues through diplomatic relations and simulations.

A member of the Nigerian delegation, Diplomat Valentina Ofi Amiebi-Uchegbu in a press release, said the young leaders shared experiences and insights, emphasizing the challenges facing the Middle East as a central agenda.

Valentina further explained that Africa Young Diplomats and Changemakers is tailored for African youths aspiring to become changemakers and diplomats adding that it also offers transformative opportunities for collaboration and innovation, addressing shared challenges across the continent.

“We intend to use this opportunity to secure a consultative status with the African Union (AU) and pertinent Regional Bodies.

“We look forward to elaborating on our plans and strategies to realize this important endeavor,” she said.

In his assessment of the impact of the conference, Diplomat from Malawi and Simulation Representative of Botswana, Pilate Seluka said the Best Diplomat conference was incredible as young and passionate African leaders are rising and prepositioning to prepare the continent for the 22nd century.

On her part, Diplomat of Nigeria and Simulation Representative of Georgia, Ihunda Eucharia Kejehis said the biggest lessons learnt from the Best Diplomats Conference was how exposed and learned we are as Africans.
