A Non-Governmental Organisation in Gombe, Family Trust and Care Foundation, has donated food items to over 500 widows and vulnerable people across the four local government areas of Gombe South Senatorial District.
Speaking during the distribution of the items in Gombe, Hajiya Zainab Jamil Gwamna, founder of the foundation, said no fewer than 500 widows from Balanga, Billiri, Kaltungo and Shongom Local Government Areas (LGAs) benefited from the gesture.
Represented by her aide, Abdullahi M Dan Adda, Mrs Gwamna said the Foundation has been awarding scholarships to some indigent students, donating teaching/learning materials to schools, empowering youth and women with entrepreneurial skills and paying the medical bills of some indigent patients, among other interventions.
She reiterated her commitment and that of her husband, Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, to continue to impact the lives of the less privileged people in the society.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Newsmen during the distribution exercise, commended Mrs Jamil Gwamna for the gift and prayed God to continue to bless and protect her and entire household.
