Chibok girls rescue: NUT scores Jonathan 48%

The Nigeria Union of teachers(NUT), have scored President Jonathan 48% very low in his effort at  rescuing about 276 Nigerian girls that were abducted by the dreaded Boko Haram sect since April 14 this year.
The union further berated government’s insincerity to the estranged girls and its inability to be decisive and apply appropriate force in the recue process.
Addressing newsmen in Abuja on the growing international clamor to free the girls and the preparations made so far for the successful flagging off of protest rallies on the Bring back our girls campaign, the president of the Nigerian union of teachers, comrade Michael Alogba Olukogwa Olukoya said that Nigerians are worried    by the continued incarceration of over 200 students of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok,

He further disclosed that the leadership of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) has directed all public primary school teachers across the 36 States and the FCT to show solidarity with other stakeholders seeking the release of the girls.
The teaching personnel have also been directed by the NUT leadership to mobilize and hold “Bring Back Our Girls” rallies in their respective states.
Mr. Olukoya also urged the Nigerian government to be alive to its primary responsibility by demonstrating more social commitment and guaranteed security of lives and property in the country.
Olukoya also added that the families of the slain teachers, 170 from Borno and 3 from Yobe State be adequately compensated to sooth their misery.

His words, “The Nigerian Union of Teachers has resolved to hold “Bring back our girls” rallies simultaneously across the 36 states and the FCT on Thursday 22 May,2014, all schools nationwide shall be closed as the day will be our day of protest against the abduction of the Chibok female students and the heartless murder of the 173 teachers.
“The NUT joins the world to call on the insurgents and their collaborators to “Bring Back Our Girls Safe and Alive”.
“We remain resolute in our resolve to continue the campaign even as we mourn the death of our colleagues until our girls are brought back safe and alive and the perpetrators of the heinous crime are brought to book.
